Meet Steve Schmidt,
Legacy Giving Coordinator

Steve is a Nebraska native who grew up in Lincoln and Central City. He graduated from Grace University in 1988 and Creighton University School of Law in 1991. As an attorney for over 25 years, Steve has spent most of his career in the area of estate planning — both in private practice and as a trust officer. In his career, one of his greatest satisfactions came in the area of charitable planned giving. Outside of work, one of his greatest passions is helping kids — especially those who are in high risk environments. His role as Legacy Giving Coordinator allows him to combine these two passions.

Steve has been involved for many years with several local chapters of the national Charitable Gift Planners Association. Steve has trained financial advisors, CPAs, and other attorneys on effective and cutting edge estate planning, and has spoken to various civic groups about effective charitable gift planning.

He is passionate about the vision of Child Saving Institute: “All children have homes where hope is kindled and dreams can be achieved.  This is our work, and they are all our children.”

Steve grew up in a home where he was encouraged to help others and to do the right thing, and he wants all those served by CSI to have many opportunities to succeed in life.

"I am here to help CSI friends and donors find the best way they can create a legacy of support for the programs and services we offer to children and families in crisis."

Contact Steve at 402-504-3664 or sschmidt@childsaving.org if you have questions about including or have already included CSI in your will or estate plan.
