For generations, Child Saving Institute (CSI) has been a trusted partner and community leader by intentionally bringing essential services together in one place—so families can build relationships that last. While CSI is largely known for our Early Childhood Education program and Mental Health Services, our Community-Based Services are expansive, diverse and truly meet families where they are.
Teen & Young Parent Program
Becoming a parent completely changes your life, especially when it happens earlier than you may have anticipated. CSI’s Teen & Young Parent Program (TYPP) supports parents under the age of 25 with parenting resources, support and education. Through home visits and regular meetings focused on child development, parenting and life skills, TYPP participants build confidence in parenting for today and in the future.

Domestic Violence Recovery & Support
No one should have to navigate life after domestic violence alone. When survivors leave an unsafe relationship, CSI is here to offer a range of compassionate support and community resources. Our Family Empowerment Program (FEP) helps survivors of domestic violence rebuild their lives and create safe, stable environments for themselves and their children. FEP offers trauma-informed curriculum-based empowerment groups, personalized case management and access to community resources; all at no cost.
“From day one when I had my intake at Child Saving Institute, they made feel validated, made me feel protected, made me feel safe,” a former FEP client said.
Survivors of domestic violence can fill out a contact form to inquire about FEP. Our community partners also help make referrals for survivors.
Independent Living Skills & Aftercare Services
Young people transitioning to adulthood with little to no support face a higher risk of homelessness, but they don’t have to do it alone. Independent Living Skills (ILS) supports young adults in Nebraska, aged 14 to 26, as they transition out of foster care. Participants set goals for themselves and work with ILS specialists to achieve milestones like continuing education, securing employment, managing finances and accessing reliable transportation.
“I will forever be grateful for the ILS team,” a former ILS youth said. “They were very supportive and always able to point me in the right direction. I was connected to so many resources.”
In Iowa, CSI supports youth aged 17 to 23 through the Iowa Aftercare Services Network. Young adults in Iowa who have aged out of foster care can receive support through Aftercare Services to address their immediate needs and long-term goals.

Foster Care
When foster children are removed from the homes of their biological families, they need support that is consistent and compassionate. Foster parents play a critical role in providing care during one of the most challenging times in a child’s life.
“Since the day they walked through my door, they’ve been in my heart,” former CSI foster parent Kelly said of her foster children. “CSI was there from the beginning—helping us find our way.”
When you open your home and your heart through foster parenting with CSI, you’re not just providing a safe place for children; you’re offering hope and healing to children who need it most. CSI is with foster parents every step of the way, helping them with personalized support and 24/7 assistance.

No matter the need, CSI is committed to supporting families, youth and individuals across our community. Together, we can create stronger, safer futures for each child and family.
