As we all look to develop our new normal, you will notice some changes while visiting any Child Saving Institute (CSI) location. We are taking extra precautions to keep those we serve, our employees and our community safe.
Due to the need for some clients to continue face-to-face visits, we have reinstated our traditional lobby hours. Our front doors will once again be open Monday through Thursday, 8am to 6pm, and Friday, 8am – 5:30pm.
We do have strict guidelines for all visitors entering any CSI location:
- Closely self-monitor your health; if any symptoms of COVID appear, avoid entering the building.
- Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer upon entry.Maintain proper social distancing at all times (a minimum of 6 feet).
- Wear a mask while in the building.
- Limit occupancy of the elevator to one person.
- Limit one person per table in meeting rooms, conference rooms or offices.
- Limit person-to-person contact as much as possible.
Please know that your safety is our top priority. To keep everyone safe, we have implemented the following changes in our locations:
- Reminder signs for staff and visitors to adhere to proper social distancing.
- Screening questions posted at all entries.
- Markings on the floors and in the hallways/common areas with 6-foot intervals.
- Cleaning stations in common areas around the building.
- Limited chairs in meeting and conference rooms to ensure proper social distancing is followed.
- Toys removed from common areas to discourage gathering of children.
- Water fountains temporarily closed.
- Increased nightly cleaning and sanitizing by our professional cleaning service.

In response to these uncertain times, Child Saving Institute (CSI) made the very difficult decision to cancel its signature event Cabaret 2020 and adjust its annual Dough in the Toe fundraising appeal for the first time in the organization's 128-year history. Now, more than ever, your donation will make a difference. Donate today at: https://donate.onecause.com/childsaving-covid-response. Thank you to our special appeal chairs: Gail and Shane Graeve, Melanie and David Hecker and Ellen and Stavely Wright.

A message from Peg Harriott, Child Saving Institute's President & CEO:
The primary focus of Child Saving Institute (CSI) is the safety and well-being of the children and families we serve, our staff and the Omaha community. We are closely following the recommendations provided by public health officials to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
To ensure continuity of care for our clients, CSI has shifted to telecommunications to deliver services virtually when face-to-face interaction is not appropriate or feasible for our therapy, foster care and prevention services. We have also altered the hours in which our front doors will be open to now be 8:30am to 4:30pm until further notice.
At this time, our Early Childhood Education (ECE) centers remain open, while closely following guidelines including limiting the number of children per room and implementing "contained classrooms" to prevent children and staff from moving from one room to another throughout the day. Our ECE programs are committed to serving our community as long as we are able and it is safe to do so.
Several CSI programs, including our Emergency Youth Shelter and Triage Center, are prepared to continue providing services despite challenges that may arise. We know that these critical programs impact some of the most vulnerable youth in our community and we are committed to serving them during these uncertain times.
As information and recommendations change, we will continue to adjust our programs and services to best serve children and families. Updates will be provided on our website and social media channels.
Thank you for your continued support during these very trying times. Together, we stand committed to helping those most in need in our community because they are ALL our children and it's our responsibility to care for them - especially at times like these.

We are closely following the recommendations provided by public health officials to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 as we diligently work to continue to provide programs and services to children and families who need it most, especially during these unprecedented times.
As an additional preventative measure, Child Saving Institute (CSI) has begun screening all of our staff, clients and visitors to keep our facilities safe. At this time, CSI parenting class will be cancelled. However, we are working to determine ways to continue with scheduled foster parent orientations as this is a critical need in our community now and in the future. Our Early Childhood Education centers remain open and we are following all recommendations to safely do so in regards to the reduction of classroom sizes.
We will continue to provide updates here and on our social media channels as more information is available and changes occur. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter for additional COVID-19 related updates.
