CSI operates the Triage Center in partnership with Project Harmony. Founded in 2008, the Triage Center provides a safe place for children who have experienced abuse, neglect and trauma. Child welfare professionals or police bring children here to ensure their safety while investigating their cases.
The Triage Center provides a homelike setting where children can relax and feel safe. Trauma-informed staff welcomes and provides comfort and care to the children while they wait between interviews or a medical exam. The children receive a light meal, clothing and other items as needed. Staff helps the children feel welcome and safe by getting to know them. They play games, do art projects and build on their strengths and interests.
