Child Saving Institute’s Family Empowerment Program (FEP) exists to help survivors of domestic violence rebuild their lives and create safer, more stable environments for themselves and their children. Our trauma-informed program provides free, curriculum-based empowerment groups, personalized case management and access to resources designed to promote healing and break the cycle of violence.

We Meet You Where You Are.

At the Family Empowerment Program, we understand the challenges you face and are here to provide a safe, compassionate space for you and your family to heal and grow. A cornerstone of our program is the 10-week women’s empowerment group sessions. Survivors, non-abusive parents and children participate in evidence-based sessions that follow a structured curriculum to promote healing, resilience, coping skills and emotional regulation. Unlike drop-in support groups, this program is designed to provide a continuous journey toward growth and recovery.

In addition to guided empowerment groups, our program provides a range of services to further support families on their path to healing and stability:

  • Child and Family Therapy: Through specialized therapies, families can address trauma together in a way that nurtures connection and understanding.
  • Enrichment Activities: Families can engage in activities that strengthen bonds, reduce stress and promote healthy relationships.
  • Individual Guidance: Survivors receive 1:1 case management support to connect with community resources, secure stable housing and enhance financial independence through employment opportunities.
  • Language Accessibility: All support groups and services are available in both English and Spanish to ensure families feel comfortable and supported in their preferred language.
  • Childcare Assistance: Free childcare is available during support groups and therapy sessions for families with young children.
  • Transportation Support: If transportation is a barrier, we’ll help ensure you can attend group sessions, therapy or appointments without added stress.
  • Ongoing Support: Our aftercare programming offers a safe and supportive space for social connection, continued growth and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with peers, creating informal support networks that help families maintain progress throughout their journey.

FEP is rooted in understanding and meeting the unique needs of each family. We listen to survivors, adapt our programming based on their feedback, and work alongside them on their path toward safety and stability. By participating in the Family Empowerment Program, families can build the skills and confidence needed to move forward, foster emotional and physical safety and create a brighter future.
