Celebrating 133 Years of Hope: Child Saving Institute’s Legacy & Future

By April 3, 2025No Comments

For 133 years, Child Saving Institute (CSI) has been a pillar of support for Omaha’s children and families. What began as an orphanage in 1892 has evolved into a comprehensive nonprofit organization, offering essential services like Mental Health Support, Early Childhood Development and Critical Response Services. On April 4, 2025, CSI proudly celebrates this milestone, reflecting on its past while looking ahead to a promising future.

At the heart of CSI’s future is the Campaign for Hope, a transformative initiative designed to expand and enhance the organization’s impact. With a fundraising goal of $46 million, the campaign focuses on three critical areas:

  • Expanding the Emergency Shelter, ensuring a safe and nurturing space for more youth in crisis.
  • Enhancing Mental Health Services, growing to 16 practitioners and creating trauma-informed spaces for healing.
  • Investing in technology and infrastructure, strengthening CSI’s ability to provide high-quality care.

The community’s response to the Campaign for Hope has been overwhelming, with $44,845,697 already raised toward the goal. This generosity reflects Omaha’s commitment to ensuring every child has access to safety, stability and opportunity.

“CSI has a rich legacy of providing hope and support to thousands of children and families,” says Jaymes Sime, President and CEO. “With the community’s continued support, we look forward to furthering this important work for generations to come.”

As CSI marks 133 years of service, this is more than just a celebration—it’s a call to action. The need for comprehensive, trauma-informed care is greater than ever, and with your support, CSI can continue to be a beacon of hope for those who need it most.
