Behavioral Health Intervention Services

Our Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) provides in-home, skills-based support for Iowa children and youth already receiving therapy services for mental health support. BHIS services act as the behavioral complement to therapy services, helping children and families build the skills needed for success.
Our goal is to empower children and their caregivers with practical tools to manage behaviors that interfere with the child’s daily life.
BHIS focuses on individualized interventions to help children and families develop skills such as:
- Conflict resolution
- Cognitive flexibility
- Communication skills
- Emotional regulation
- Executive function and decision making
- Interpersonal relationship skills
- Problem-solving
- Social skills
The development of these skills addresses factors which may be impacting the child’s well-being, while strengthening family dynamics to support long-term success.
