We are excited to welcome three new individuals to Child Saving Institute’s (CSI) executive, operations and mental health teams. We seek to include a diverse team bringing expertise from different personal and professional backgrounds. CSI is happy to welcome Kristen Rodriguez, Erin Weis and Maureen W. Gatere as its newest executive, operational and medical roles.

Rodriguez serves as the CSI Vice President of Operations, a new leadership position created in 2023. Kristen is an Independently Licensed Social Worker with a professional journey spanning from nearly eight years of working with adolescents in residential services, followed by three years at a trade organization doing policy social work for child-serving agencies. Kristen was also employed at a daycare overseas and worked as a School Liaison Officer for American military children in Italy during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Weis brings a unique perspective to her role as the new CSI Executive Coordinator with a diverse educational background encompassing a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and a master’s in Sports Management. Her academic pursuits led her to an internship with the Philadelphia 76ers. These equipped her with a versatile skill set, enabling her to apply unconventional strategies to problem-solving tactics. She derives satisfaction from assisting individuals in completing their projects, finding fulfillment in their successes.

Gatere’s impressive journey to CSI’s APRN commenced with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) specializing in psychiatry, achieved at the University of Nebraska-Medical Center (UNMC). Her education journey is further enriched with a master’s degree in Public Health from UNMC, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nebraska Methodist College and a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. She brings extensive experience in providing medical care and has been in the field for more than 15 years, including time serving as a Reserve Mental Health Nurse in the US Air Force.
