We are delighted to announce that Jaymes Sime, a true visionary and catalyst for positive change, has been honored with the prestigious 2023 JCI USA Ten Outstanding Young Americans (TOYA) Award. This recognition underscores Sime’s exceptional accomplishments, unwavering dedication and remarkable contributions to society.

The JCI USA TOYA Award is a distinction bestowed upon individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership, innovation and impact in their respective fields. The selection committee was deeply inspired by Sime’s journey and his commitment to driving meaningful change in our communities.

A testament to Sime’s relentless pursuit of excellence is his dedication to MICAH House, a shelter serving those experiencing homelessness based in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Under Sime’s leadership, MICAH House successfully completed a $3.7 million capital campaign. This campaign expanded access to shelter services for women in the community, while also bringing necessary medical services onsite. Additionally, under Sime’s guidance, MICAH House increased its budget by 200% and doubled its staff to provide enhanced programs and community support. Sime’s profound dedication to serving the homeless in his community stems from his own childhood experiences and witnessing the compassion of others who helped his family through poverty and homelessness. Sime now serves as the President and CEO of Omaha’s Child Saving Institute (CSI), a 131-year-old non-profit dedicated to assisting children and families in need. He is actively leading CSI through their transformative $46 million “Campaign for Hope,” aimed at enhancing mental health, early childhood education and emergency shelter capacity in Omaha for youth and families. Sime humbly acknowledges that such significant impact is made possible through the dedication of his co-workers and the generosity of the Omaha community.

The JCI USA TOYA Award has a rich history of celebrating remarkable young leaders who have made substantial impacts. Past recipients include Drew Brees, Marcus Mariota, Theodore Roosevelt, Bill Clinton, Michele Tafoya, Christopher Reeve, and John Cena.

The award ceremony was held on September 9, 2023 at the Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West in Plymouth, Minnesota. During the ceremony, Sime joined the ranks of previous winners, industry leaders, and supporters. The event was a vibrant celebration of Sime’s achievements and a platform to share his vision for a brighter future.
